FAQ's:
What size support brackets do I need?
This is what one expert says: If your granite is 2 cm thick, you need supports for anything over 6" of unsupported span. If it's 3 cm or more, you need supports for anything over 10" of unsupported span. So, if you have a 2 cm countertop with a 15" overhang, you'll need at least a 9" long support on the countertop. If you have around a 12-16" overhang, 10" x 10" brackets are a very common size.
How many support brackets do I need?
This is a hard question since everyone has their own opinion and it depends on your countertop type and thickness. One installer says you need a bracket at least every 30" with one at each end 6" from the each end. Another installer says to place a bracket every 36". Ask your installer if you can!
What if I need additional holes in my brackets?
We can drill additional holes in the wall/shelf side or drill holes in the counter side. There is NO additional charge for this. Please explain where you need the holes in the "Special Order Instructions" section when you checkout. Or, you may fax or email us a diagram (please put your name and order number on your email/fax).
How long will it take to get my order?
Your brackets will be fabricated in about 2-3 weeks and then shipped UPS ground from Austin, TX. Here is a map of how long it will take to get to you: UPS ground map.
If you chose the RUSH option, the brackets will leave our shop in two business days, then ship UPS ground. For example, if you live in Virginia and order on a Friday, they will go out by Tuesday and get to you by Friday (UPS ground takes three days from Texas to Virginia). This Rush option is not always available. If you do not see the checkbox at checkout (the page where you fill out your name, address, etc.), it is not available.
If you need them faster, please call us at (512) 267-7766 to inquire about 2-day or overnight shipping.
Can I return my brackets?
We're sorry, but brackets are non-returnable. Each one is made to your size specifications and finish, therefore we can not take them back.
How heavy duty are these and how are they made?
They are custom made to order. We start with 1/4" steel. We cut them, bend them and cut holes in them using a 55 ton Ironworker. Then we finish them to your choice. Most hardware stores do not sell anything this heavy duty.
Are your faux finishes more expensive?
No, all of our 18 finishes are included in the price of the bracket. There are no upcharges for different finishes.
Testimonials:
Thank you for the brackets and for getting them to me so quickly. They arrived when you said they would and were installed today with my new counter top. They look awesome!-Kris
I received my order today and was totally pleased with the quality, looks, and value of the brackets. I would definitely buy from your store again. -David R.
Just wanted to tell you that I am thrilled with my new brackets. They arrived exactly within the time frame outlined and are precisely as you presented them via the Internet. I purchased the brackets to support a new kitchen counter-top. The installer joked that if a tornado came through, all I would need to do is strap myself to the brackets. They are perfect in both aesthetics and function....Thank you, Marti
I wanted to say thank for the S Brackets! We love them and they look great. I have been telling everyone. -Kendra S.
